Daniel Shreves is the author of BORN, founder of Savvy Ninja Marketing, and Director of Operations for Be Bold for Jesus Ministries. He has spent 25+ years in ministry.

Daniel Shreves is the author of BORN: Identity Discovered, Purpose Revealed, Legacy Unleashed. With more than 25 years in ministry, he writes and speaks about what happens when leaders confuse activity with intimacy, titles with identity, and success with faithfulness. He is the founder of Savvy Ninja Marketing, where he builds systems that grow organizations without burning out the people inside them, and serves as Director of Operations for Be Bold for Jesus Ministries. He lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Daniel Shreves has spent more than 25 years in ministry, and much of that time watching faithful people quietly run out of gas. His book BORN: Identity Discovered, Purpose Revealed, Legacy Unleashed came out of that observation — and out of his own seasons of calling, collapse, surrender, and renewal. It argues that most of what we call a motivation problem is actually an identity problem: we stay busy, productive, and committed, yet disconnected from who we truly are. Daniel is the founder of Savvy Ninja Marketing, where he helps organizations build clear, sustainable systems that support growth without burning people out, and he serves as Director of Operations for Be Bold for Jesus Ministries, supporting the vision and execution of its conferences and initiatives. Whether he is on a stage or behind one, the focus is the same: stewardship, integrity, and alignment. He speaks to churches, conferences, leadership teams, and business groups, and lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Questions
that go
somewhere

Use them, ignore them, or throw harder ones. Daniel does not need to see questions in advance.

  • You say most of what we call burnout is an identity problem. What does that actually mean for someone who is just tired?
  • What is the difference between activity and intimacy — and how long did it take you to notice you had swapped one for the other?
  • You use the word “ultimatum.” That is a hard word. Why not something softer?
  • You run operations for a ministry and a marketing business. What does spreadsheets-and-systems work have to do with spiritual formation?
  • You write about collapse. What broke, and what did you learn on the other side of it?
  • What would you say to a pastor or leader who reads this and realizes they have been performing for years?
  • Legacy is a big word people mostly avoid. How do you make it a decision instead of a hope?

One sheet

Topics Daniel covers

01

Identity before purpose

Why chasing what you are supposed to do never resolves the question of who you were created to be.

02

Burnout in ministry

How faithful service quietly becomes a substitute for presence — and what leaders can do about it.

03

The cost of calling

Following past comfort has a price. So does staying. Naming both honestly.

04

Operations as stewardship

Systems, integrity, and alignment as spiritual practice, not just business hygiene.

05

Legacy & multiplication

Turning a vague hope about the future into a decision you can name this week.

06

Rebuilding after collapse

What comes after the season that took everything — told from the inside.
